# The Indie Tutor

> The Indie Tutor is scheduling, billing and family communication software for independent private tutors. One calendar for every lesson, a private portal where parents confirm and pay, automatic reminders and cancellation rules, lesson packages, a public tutor page with lesson requests, and AI practice homework from a short spoken recap.

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. Prices are in USD. Lesson payments go through Stripe straight to the tutor's own Stripe account with no platform fee (Stripe's standard card fees apply).

- Starter: $12/month or $120/year. 1 tutor, up to 10 students, calendar, recurring lessons, Google Meet/Zoom links, Google Maps addresses, calendar sync, public profile page, online intake form.
- Pro: $24/month or $240/year. Everything in Starter plus unlimited students, private family portal, online payments, automatic lesson emails and reminders, confirm-by deadlines and credits, prepaid lesson packages, AI homework, monthly reports.
- Studio: $49/month or $490/year. Everything in Pro plus priority support; team features (up to 5 tutors, shared calendar, logo on the portal) are coming soon.

Parents do not need an app or an account: each family gets a private link from their tutor. A parent who lost the link can request it again at https://theindietutor.com/family.
